The Vision Behind Mobile Yoga Academy
Lauren J. Fields
Lauren Fields’ teaching methodology is grounded in classical alignment principles, contemporary spinal movement science, and applied anatomy, shaped through formal study with internationally respected educators.
She completed her foundational 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Victor Oppenheimer, a certified Iyengar Yoga instructor whose lineage emphasizes precision, structural alignment, and intelligent use of props to support diverse bodies. This training established Lauren’s strong foundation in Iyengar-based alignment methodology, cultivating an analytical approach to posture, load-bearing, and functional movement.
Lauren later completed an advanced 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Simon Borg-Olivier, co-founder of Yoga Synergy, whose work integrates spinal wave mechanics, functional strength, breath regulation, and circulatory efficiency. Borg-Olivier’s teaching draws from modern physiological research as well as classical influences including Shandor Remete, contributing to Lauren’s emphasis on spinal movement as a central organizing principle in both practice and pedagogy.
Complementing her yoga lineage, Lauren completed Body Reading & Body Immersion training with Tom Myers, founder of Anatomy Trains. This work informs her understanding of myofascial continuities, postural patterning, and movement compensation, allowing her to assess bodies globally rather than posture-by-posture.
Lauren’s approach is further informed by advanced education in Yoga Therapeutics, including:
Yoga Medicine Advanced Training — Hip Immersion with Tiffany Cruikshank
Continued study in anatomy, physiology, and connective tissue mobility, including Gua Sha applications
Together, these lineages form the core of Lauren’s teaching framework:
Iyengar Alignment — precision, stability, and accessibility
Spinal Movement — fluid sequencing, adaptability, and nervous system regulation
Anatomy Trains — myofascial pattern recognition and whole-body integration
Yoga Therapeutics — functional application for diverse and first-time populations
Lauren is registered as an E-RYT 500 and YACEP with Yoga Alliance.
